The movie will be directed by Paul King, who also made the Paddington movies and Wonka. We're not sure about the plot yet, but we do know the Prince Charming character is the romantic lead in more than one princess movie, including Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty.
Even though the plot hasn't been revealed yet — or even whether the movie will be live-action or animated — we DO have new intel on who may be playing Prince Charming himself.
And this is huge news, because ever since we found out we'd be getting a Prince Charming movie, everyone has been discussing and debating who should play him. Some popular choices include Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Nicholas Galitzine, and Timothée Chalamet.
Of course, Chris Hemsworth has been a leading man in soooo many movies before (uh, anyone seen Thor?). But there's a reason people didn't really consider him beforehand: he's an action star, so this would be a relatively new niche for him.
But macho-man status aside, there's another overwhelming reason a lot of people don't want to see Chris (at least THIS Chris) play Prince Charming. And that's his age. For context, Chris is 41 — which isn't old by any means, but people seem to be disappointed it's not someone younger:
And honestly? I see both sides. Chris definitely does give KING energy more than prince. But on the other hand, sooo many people hated on Ryan Gosling when he was cast as Ken — and he brought the Kenergy more than anyone else could've. So if Chris does end up starring in this movie, I'm sure he'll end up CHARMING us all.
Anyone else you'd like to see as Prince Charming who didn't make the poll (sorry, LOL)? Any more thoughts about the potential choice of Chris Hemsworth as Prince Charming? Tell us in the comments! Seriously, I wanna know!
